FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we hear most often
Is the quotation free?
What should I send for a quote?
The more complete the information, the more precisely we can define the price, schedule and appropriate workflow.
How is the price calculated?
We confirm the exact cost before work begins, so you know which process and deliverables are included.
How long will the project take?
If time is critical, an express service – delivery on the same or next working day – may be possible where the scope and available resources allow it. We do not charge an additional fee solely for express handling. For larger projects, we can organise a team while maintaining terminology and consistency controls.
Can I check the quality first?
For AI translation, send one file, identify a representative page and specify the target language. We will prepare that page in the available service options free of charge, allowing you to compare the results using your own material.
Which file formats do you support?
If your format is not listed, send us a sample. We will check whether the file can be processed safely without losing its structure.
Can you work with scans and PDFs?
Where the source is properly editable, we can work while retaining its structure, formatting and layout. Non-editable files may require a separately priced file preparation service. Alternatively, we can deliver the translation in a bilingual table without recreating the original layout.
Do you use translation memories and glossaries?
If the client does not provide such resources, translax may, at its discretion, create or develop working terminology and translation resources where this improves project consistency. A client’s resources are never shared with other clients.
Is native-speaker revision included?
Being a native speaker alone is not sufficient qualification to review a translation. We also consider linguistic competence, translation experience and subject-matter knowledge. We can also review text prepared by another supplier.
How do you control quality?
translax is certified to ISO 17100, the international standard covering translation services, professional competence, project management and quality procedures. Not every service option includes full human review; its inclusion always follows from the agreed scope.
How does AI translation work?
translax qualifies and prepares the file, selects the model for the language and content type, applies useful translation memories and terminology, checks completeness and delivers the material in the agreed format. See AI translation for a detailed comparison.
Is my content used to train AI?
We advise against sending secret, confidential or highly sensitive material through a standard AI workflow without prior agreement. translax does not classify every document on the client’s behalf: the client selects the workflow and decides whether the material may be processed in it.
Can you audit an existing translation?
After the analysis, we recommend a practical next step: targeted correction, full review, editing, terminology development or retranslation.
How can I send large or confidential files?
Contact us before sending larger or more confidential projects. We can agree to work within your environment or arrange an individual FTP account, encrypted Proton Drive space or PGP transmission. We will match the method to the file size, confidentiality level and your organisation’s procedures.
Do you provide certified translations?
When enquiring, tell us the country and institution for which the document is intended and whether the translation will be made from an original, a copy or an electronic file. This allows us to confirm the required form, number of copies and delivery method.
